Transparent Glassine Silkworm Paper is a crisp paper which has a
slight raised pattern on both sides of the paper thus giving the paper a
mild embossed texture. The paper is the same color on both sides.

The paper is a firm transparent paper that is produced
exclusively from cellulose by mechanical calendering where no chemical
additives are used. The color dyed is placed into paper at the pulp stage and pretty much resists fading when in the light.
The
classic use of glassine paper is in the packaging of foods, for storing
films and documents, as intermediate layers
for photographs and stamp albums, as a view window in mailing envelopes.
Craft usage includes kite making, lampshades, window pictures, candle
decoration, card decorating, origami, kirigami etc.
